Just checking in with an October update...
Middle schoolers are currently fitness testing, specifically focused on the health related components of fitness; body composition, cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, and flexibility. We will be evaluating our results and discussing some goal setting with students in order to help them improve any personal fitness categories.
Grades 3/4 are also doing fitness related activities and games. They will be introduced to the health related components of fitness and will practice some of the testing procedures we use in the middle school.
Grade k-2 are currently working on hopping, jumping, and leaping and practicing different landing techniques. We are focused on body awareness and how the arms assist in the jumping and landing process for creating momentum and improving balance.
